Lok Sabha is the lower house of the Indian Parliament and its total strength cannot exceed 552 members, as of now. Out of 552 MPs, 530 represent the States, 20 represent the Union Territories and 2 members are nominated from the Anglo Indian community. 550 of its members are elected directly by the Indian electorate, with Uttar Pradesh alone sending in 85 MPs, the largest number by any single state.
