Explanation:

Compressibility: it is the ability of an object to be compressed. Thus, negligible compressibility means that the object does have the ability to compress but the compression is not significant enough to be considered.

If an object has negligible compressibility, it compresses so less, so insignificantly that it doesn't make much difference. The compression is so insignificant that it can't be considered.

For example, if you try to compress an iron block, you won't be able to compress it. It might not even compress even if you have super strength. So here, the iron block has negligible compressibility.

Solids have negligible compressibility. The reason behind this is that the particles of solids are closely packed. So, they have very, very less (negligible) inter-particle space, i.e., there is negligible space between the particles of solids. So, if there is negligible inter-particle space, how will solids get compressed? When we compress anything, the particles of that matter come closer. But in solids, the particles are already very much closer.

So, that is why solids have negligible compressibility.
