The process in which green plants makes their own food in the presence of sunlight , water, and carbon dioxide is known as photosynthesis. The word photosynthesis is a combination of two words 'photo' which means light and 'synthesis' means to put together . It is a process in which carbon dioxide water and certain inorganic salts are converted into carbohydrates.
