Protosexual phenomenon is the process observed in some organisms like yeasts in which diploid cells produce haploid cells or propagules without a sexual process. They do not involve formation of fruiting body or sexual spores. It is thought to involve the ordinary meiosis by which meiotic nuclei formed directly develop into the haploid cells.

Hope this information will clear your doubts about the protosexual phenomenon.
