When we practice grafting process we need two parts to cut the plant and graft it on the other plant the upper part is called 
Scion And the lower part is called stock (on which the scion be grafted.)

Scion has two meanings -


 > The scion is the top part of the plant that is grafted onto the 'rootstock' (the lower part) and will produce the plant’s shoot.
