Tethys is the sea which divides the two lands Angaraland and Gondwana land
in ancient time before continental drift

Before 200 million years ago earth was divided into two they are pangea (the massive land) and panthalasa (the Great sea) later the land was divided into two halvs they are laurasia and gondwana lands between them a sea called tethys formed. Tethys means middle in Greece language it is now the madeterian sea.
