"Good Fences Make Good Neighbours"
This famous line has been taken from a four line verse of the unforgettable poet Robert Frost. The name of the poem is "Mending Wall". The verse from where the above line is taken is as follows -
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
My apple trees will never get across
And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.
He only says, "Good fences make good neighbours."
The first three lines the poem shows a person assuring a third person that his apple trees don't branch into his neighbour's garden. And the third person passes a statement "Good Fences Make Good Neighbours". It has been said that neighbors are the first who come in the moment of happiness and sorrow because they are the nearest people to you at least physically. That is why there is a wisdom in keeping our neighbour in good terms with us.
But neighbours are the most dangerous enemies, too. They are the witness to your every activity. In that case if your neighbours try to damage you, you cannot help. Then what is the solution ? Develop a good relationship and good understanding with your neighbours. Here the poet suggest to maintain a good fencing so that there isn't any confusion concerning the boundaries on which you are not supposed to go. Thus, mind your fencing.
