it means dat the unit shud have a connection wid othr units or its value can b changed in2 othr units. eg- 10 m can b ritten as 1000 cm or 0.01 km.

from that standard unit.These units were also known as derived units.Like example ,if someone asks in1metre how many centimetre is represented.The answer will be 1metre =100centimetre.
