Vaakbhushanam is made of two words i.e., vaak and bhushanam

→ वाक् + भूषणम

Here both the words have a unique meaning where 'vaak' means 'word' and 'bhushanam' means 'ornament'.

वाक् = word

भूषणम = ornament.

There is an old saying in sanskrit - वाकभूषणं भूषणम

It means the jewel of speech is the jewel of jewel (greatest one)

Though it is an old saying it holds the same meaning till today.

Because the way you speak can make you good friends, bad enemies, it can create a high image on you in the society... and yeah people often judge you after talking with you.

So, cultured and well mannered speech is said to be the best ornament to wear.
