What is the meant by homologous series of carbon compounds? Write the general formula of (i) alkenes,
and (ii) alkynes. Draw the structure of the first member of each series to show the bonding between the two carbon atoms.

A homologous series is a group of organic compounds having similar structures and similar chemical properties whiih the successive compounds differ by CH2 group.
Alkenes= CnH2n
Alkynes = CnH2n-2 ..
