when two rays meet, they make an angle, and the angle formed by two rays moving in opposite directions is known as a straight angle. A straight angle is one whose vertex point has a value of 180 degree in geometry.

Given ∠AOB=144\circ

So,

AOB+COA+DOB=180° (angle on a straight line)

144+a°+a°=180°

2a=36

a=18°

So, the vaue of a is 18°.

Answer:

Angle a is 18 degrees.

Explanation:

Given:

angle 1 = 144

To find:

angle a

Solution:

the angle at any point on a straight line is 180 degrees. so here in this question it is given that there are 3 angles and one among them are 144 degrees and the other 2 angles are same. which denotes the following formula to solve this question.

144 + x + x = 180

144 + 2x = 180

2x = 180 - 144

2x = 36

x = 36/2

x = 18.

hence angle a is 18 degrees.
