This type of cell division is called mitosis which usually occurs for growth. This is also known as copying division as the same exact cell is produced with everything (including organelles) exactly in the same number and position. This is controlled by Nucleus in the cell which controls cell activities including cell division. This makes sure that the new cell produced must have the same features as the parent (old) cell.
