The Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) via sexual or blood-blood contact is responsible for the AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome) disease. Once it enters human body, it attacks macrophages where its RNA replicates with help of enzyme reverse transcriptase that gives rise to viral DNA. This viral DNA enters host DNA and synthesis of virus particles occurs. Also, HIV enters helper T- lymphocytes where it produces viral progeny. These newly formed progeny viruses gets released into the blood, attacking other healthy helper T-lymphocytes reducing it's number. So, decreasing the immunity of a person.
