The universal adult franchise is a mechanism of the elections of a democratic country. It is undertaken to ensure equality and uniformity amongst the masses. All people, who have attained the age of 18 years are given the right to cast their vote, in favour of the representative they want to choose and vest the country's powers with. This ensures free and fair election where the voters cannot be easily influenced. A secret ballot machine is also used for the same purpose. That is, to maintain confidentiality.
