Hey !!

There is growing interest in the use of chelate theory in medicinal chemistry. An example in the treatment of problems caused by the presence of metal in toxic proportions in animal systems. Thus, excess of copper and iron are removed by using the chelating ligands, via the formation of coordination compounds.

Ethylenediamine tetraacetate is used in the treatment of lead poisoning. A platinum complex cis [PtCl₂(NH₃)₂] known as cis platin is used in cancer chemotherapy.

Good luck !!
