Hi Veda, The Seven Ages of Man is an excerpt from Shakespeare’s play As You Like It. In this poem, Shakespeare has compared life to a stage and has divided life into seven stages. Each stage has its own varied qualities and features. The men and the women are termed as ‘merely players’ as no one lives forever but plays his or her part and departs. At birth, they enter a stage and during death, they leave it. I hope this helps. Happy Studying
