Wind is generally considered as destructive. People usually curse the wind because along with the wind comes crumbling of roofs, houses, lives etc. However, the poet is asking us to see the positive side of it and consider the wind our friend instead. Wind helps strong fires brighter. So instead of cursing the wind, let us build strong houses, roofs and hearts and so the wind wiĺl become our friend.
