The whole story revolves around Private Quelch, who exhibits his knowledge in front of everyone. The story teaches us that there is nothing wrong in having a vast pool of knowledge, but what is wrong is to make a display of it to impress others and to insult others because of their lack of knowledge.

The story 'the man who knew too much' is that exhibitionism of knowledge is not liked and admired. It only irritates others. In the story too the proffessor uses to outshone him all the time.He thinks that he is best of all but at the end corppral Turnbull taught him a lesson by nominating him for cookhouse duties. Moreover, we should not exibit our knowledge all the time.
