A person cannot be judged by the outward appearance just as a book cannot be judged by its cover. Here in this story, the two boys looked shabby and untidy which made the driver disapprove them. However, the author's interest on them increased on finding them indulging in all sorts of odd jobs with a willingness. Their sincerity, devotion and dedication towards the work to meet the medical expenses of their sister were appreciable.
Hope this may help you☺
