Hii friend here is ur answer
The length of a river is the distance between the source point & the mouth of the river. Arriving at a definite length is a difficult task. A river has many sources, and deciding the farthest source is a challenging task.Measuring the length along the winding course of a river is also an arduous job. If a river has delta, deciding the farthest end is equally challenging. Therefore the lengths of most rivers are approximate figures.
The depth of a river is measured in two ways. The first is the height of the actual water column in the river. This depth is maximum somewhere in the middle, and goes on decreasing towards the banks. Another way is to imagine a horizontal line from bank to bank and them measure the perpendicular distance down to the river bed. This is the maximum depth of the river when there is bankfull of discharge, which is generally the case at the time of floods.
Hope it helps u ❤❤❤❤
