The ‘modern’ period in India is associated with the establishment of British colonially rule and the fight we put up against it. It also cover social culture changes that came about in India under the influence of British.

Answer:

In Indian History, historians divided it into ancient, medieval and modern. But this division had its own problems too. Modern period is a periodisation that is borrowed from West where the modern period was associated with the growth of all forces of modernity- science, reason, democracy, liberty and equality. And yes, this modern period is associated with all the above factors in India. It can be regarded as a period of economic growth and progress where all have freedom, equality and liberty.------------------------------------------
