Explanation:

let the weight be 100g

so 40% NaOH w/w is 40g

no. of moles of NaOH is 40/40 I.e 1

weight of solvent=100-40=60

molality=1000/60=16.67

\huge\bold{Answer}

\bold{Molality}

It is defined as the number of moles of solute present in 1kg of solvent. it is denoted by m..

----------------

Let the weight be = 1quintal=100 kg

40% NaOH (w/w) = 40kg

No of moles of NaOH = 40/40 =1

Thus, Weight of Solvent = 100-40=60

Therefore,

\bold{Molality} = 1000/60=16.67m
