I understand 2% NaOH to mean 2g NaOH in 100ml solution.

That is 20g NaOH in 1000ml solution

Molar mass NaOH = 40g/mol

20g = 20/40 = 0.5 mol

0.5mol in 1000 ml solution = 0.5M

Answer:

Molarity = moles/L so convert 20.0g to moles.... 20.0g x 1 mol NaOH/39.998 grams NaOH = 0.50 moles NaOH Molarity= 0.50 NaOH / 2.00 L = 0.25 M
