Molecular formula of alum is:XAl(SO4)2·12H2O

where, X= Potassium, Sodium & Ammonium

So we can say, basically we have 3 Types of Alum based on the chemical salt.

1.Potassium Alum=KAl(SO4)2·12H2O

2.Sodium Alum= NaAl(SO4)2·12H2O

3.Ammonium Alum= NH4Al(SO4)2·12H2O
