Here we can use parallel axis theorem.
as you know that moment of inertia of a rod about centre of mass is ML²/12
then from centre of mass to one end distance =L/2
then, moment of inertia at any end of rod=[ML²/12]+[M(L/2)²]
=(ML²/12)+(ML²/4)
=4ML²/12 = ML²/3
as you know that moment of inertia of a rod about centre of mass is ML²/12
