What is the moment of inertia of a rod of mass m,length l about an axis perpendicular to it through one end?

it's moment of inertia should be ml^2/3

HLO MATE HERE U GO

For the rod of mass M and length L , the M.I of the rod about an axis passing through its centre of mass and perpendicular its plane is I = Ml^2 /12

using the parallel axes theroem ,I = I + Ma^2 .

With a = l/2 we get I = M l^2/12

+ M[ 1/2 ]^2 = Ml^2/3.
