Answer:

This story conveys a message that children love their parents unconditionally. He doesn't ask his parents sweets or any such thing because he knows that his parents wouldn't grant thus wish. But when he gets lost, he doesn't care about anything else and just wants his parents back. This message of the story makes the reader understand the worth of parents in the life of a child.
