King Midas and the golden touch:

King Midas used to love gold more than anything else. He loved Gold more than his daughter. One day a fairy named Dionysus grants him a wish that ‘everything he touches turns into gold’.

King Midas first checks it with some of his gifts and it works. Everything goes happily until King Midas comes to breakfast, the bread and water he touches also turns into gold. He cries out for help and when his daughter comes in he touches her too and she also turns into gold.

The king now realises that gold is not everything we need in life and asks Dionysus to help. The fairy asks him to bath in river Pactolus, he does so and he gets rid of the Golden touch. He also gets back his daughter. There after, the king lived happily with his family.

The story of king Midas teaches us about the dangers of being greedy. The moral of the story is “Don’t be greedy in life, be happy with what you have.”
