As shown in the story, Issac refused to help the 16 injured soldiers, because of his son's murder and had buried them after they died.

A few years letter Feodor Himkoff, the brother of the soldier with the missing finger came to thank Isaac for giving his brother and his crew a peaceful burial and always remembered to send Isaac and his wife rich gifts.

We should not refuse to give others shelter and always help one-another.
