The story Imp and the peasant's bread is written by Leo Tolstoy. The story deals with the fact that every human being, however good may be, has a devil hidden in him . It is under the influence of alcohol that a person expresses his true, beast like nature. Even in this story, the peasant who was initially kind hearted, became greedy and unkind as he got richer and became alcoholic.
