What is the most difficult part of being a Tailor?
Answers
Answer:
I have taught sewing classes for several years and the hardest part for many students is accepting the fact that learning to sew and doing it well takes time. I can tell very quickly who will progress and who will end up a big ball of frustration. I always start new sewers with a simple, square pin cushion. It actually teaches several important aspects of sewing. When we are done, the students that are excited to have simply started and finished a project, regardless of how crooked, lumpy, or otherwise odd it may be, are the students that will go on to love sewing.
I think that was a long winded way of saying that the hardest part about learning to sew is the necessary realization that your projects won't be perfect for a long time and that is OK. All that really matters is that you are practicing your new skill and enjoying yourself.
