Saponification can be defined as process by which soaps are generated from Fats or lye. It can also be defined as a process by which triglycerides are reacted with sodium or potassium hydroxide to produce salt.
Lipids containing fatty acids undergoes hydrolysis which is catalyzed by strong acid or base. This reaction takes place at about 50c.
Thus suitable temperature for saponification reaction is 50 Celsius.

The ideal and bearable temperature of hot water bath for human beings would be if the water is 2 deg. C above the normal body temperature. Use of soap would work reasonably well at this temperature.
