Well there's a long debate regarding who should be crowned with the title of the first scientist. While some groups put forward Galileo Galilei's name, some others go for Aristotle or Thales of Miletus. One other goes for William Gilbert.

It's not really sure how you categorize the characteristics that make a scientist, and how they apply to ancient philosophers.

According to me, however, I believe you should go for Aristotle.
