of Orissa.

A number of tribes inhabiting different  areas of the state are practicing shifting  cultivation. These tribes are Bondo, Didayi,  Koya, Gadaba, Paroja, Soura, Kutia Kondha,  dongaria Kondha, Kandha, Parenga, Jatapur,  Juang, Paudi Bhuyan, Erenga Kolha etc.  Majority of these communities have been

identified as Primitive Tribal Groups (PTGs).
