                               The first day of Diwali is called Dhanvantari Triodasi or Dhwanwantari Triodasi also called Dhantheras. On this day, Lord Dhanvantari who is considered to be the vaidhya of Gods came out of the ocean with Ayurvedic for mankind. He imparted the wisdom of Ayurveda for the betterment of mankind and to help rid it of the disease.

                                This day is also celebrated as "Lakshmi Puja" in the evening where diyas of clay are lit to drive away from the shadows of evil spirits. Hindus consider Dhanteras as the auspicious day for new purchases such as gold or silver items.
