Even though the Enamel is considered the hardest tissue in the human body, it is not a living tissue. Therefore, the second hardest tissue in the body which is also living, is the Dentin. Dentin is a calcified tissue of the body and, along with enamel, cementum, and pulp, is one of the four major components of teeth.
