When Iron rod is dipped in Copper sulphate solution which is light blue in colour. A chemical reaction occurs in which Iron being more reactive than copper displaces, Copper from copper sulphate solution. This is a displaement reaction. This process of coating one metal on the other is called as Electroplating.
