Answer:

An earthquake gave narrator the solution to his problem in "Engine's Trouble"

Explanation:

In the story "Engine's trouble", the narrator won a road engine as a prize from Gaiety Land, an institution who came to perform in Gymkhana Grounds. But due to lack of a driver the narrator had no means of removing the engine from the place. Being a poor man narrator had a hard time managing the engine as he had to pax tax and pay for all the damage that the engine caused when he tried to move it. One of the damage was breaking the wall of the house of a man who had an unused well and was being asked by the Municipality to close it. When the earthquake happened the engine fell into the well and the well was closed , thus relieving the owner of the well. As a reward the owner of the well withdrew his charges on the narrator for breaking his hall and also agreed to pay  for all the losses he may have incurred while trying to move or get rid of the road engine.
