Bile juice is slightly alkaline in nature. The pH of Bile juice ranges from 7.5-8. Bile juice consists of the following components:

Water (85%)

Bile salts (10%)

Mucus and pigments (3%)

Fats (1%)

Inorganic salts (0.7%)

bile juice is secreted by liver it perform two main function in digestion.

(1) the food which comes from stomach is acidic in nature bile juice make it alkaline so that pancreatic enzyme can work on it.

(2) bile juice also contain bile salt which break down the large molecules of fat to smaller one.
