Metal Carbonates are formed by reaction of metal salt with CO2 and metal hydrogen carbonates are made with reaction of metal salt and HCO3 .

When metal hydrogen carbonate reacts with acid, it produces corresponding metal salt,carbon dioxide and water.

EG:Na2Co3+2HCL forms 2NaCl+H2O + CO2
