if magnification is positive it means that it is formed above the principal axis

if in a concave mirror the image is above principal axis so it is a virtual image when object is placed between pole and focus. ( the only condition when image is above principal axis)

and for magnification -1 it is a real image as the image is on the same side below principal axis (so inverted)

the size of image in first case will be 3x and in second case image will be of same size ( so object is at centre of curvature) but it will be inverted
