What is the nature of sugar? Acidic/Basic/Neutral

Pure sugar is neutral, it will not change the color of pH paper. But the sugar that we buy from market is little impure as chemicals are mixed in it for some extra whiteness so when you will take this impure sugar the pH value can go above 7.0

The nature of sugar is neutral.As it has no effect on litmus paper.As bases are soapy and bitter in taste while acid has sour tastes but sugar is sweet so it's neutral.
