Given :-

  • Quadratic equation : 2x² - 4x + 5 = 0.

To Find :-

  • The nature of the roots.

Solution :-

Given that, 2x² - 4x + 5 = 0

On comparing with ax² + bx + c = 0 , We get :

➡ a = 2 , b = -4 , c = 5

As we know that,

   { \large{ \mathfrak{\red{Δ = b {}^{2}  - 4ac}}}}

[ Putting values ]

➡ Δ = (-4)² - 4 × 2 × 5

➡ Δ = 4 - 8 × 5

➡ Δ = 4 - 40

➡ Δ = -36

 \large{ \blue{ \mathfrak{.°.  \:Δ < 0  }}}

Hence,

  • The nature of roots are not real and unequal.
