a = 2

b = -3

c = -4

Discriminent ( D ) = b^2 - 4ac

= ( -3 ) ^2 - ( 4 × 2 × -4 )

= 9 + 32 = 41.

D = 41.

As ; a,b,c are rational numbers, D > 0 and the value of D is not perfect square the nature of the roots are Irrational and distinct.

Answer:

Here, a = 2 , b = -3 , c = -4

Discriminant = - 4ac

= 9 + 32

= 41

Since 41 > 0 , the given equation has two distinct roots.
