what is the nature of toothpaste?acidic or basic and why

The average PH level of nine toothpaste tested was 6.83(slightly acidic) because toothpaste containg flouride ,sodium , Laura sulphate , sugar etc

The toothpaste is basic in nature because ,the bacteria in the mouth is not washed away by the salvia reacts with the sugar in these foodsand forms acid on teeth.
basic toothpastes will react with acids where :
ACID+BASE gives rise to SALT+WATER
(not that salt which we usally use it is a chemical salt ).

Hence by this we can reduce the case and cavities .
