Parity bit is a technique, where it is shown how to detect the errors, in data packets and frames caused due to noise in channel. There are two kinds of parity bit checker, even and odd parity bit checker.

  • In the computer networks, the OSI model is used where there are various layers present, which determines the protocols to be followed while successfully transferring data.
  • In OSI model, the transport layer uses the parity bit, to detect errors have occurred or not during transmission of data from sender to receiver.
