What is the need of gap between two neurons... Why the two neurons csn be joimed togeyher?

dendrites or nerve ending divers that present in a neuron . the two neurons can be joined together so that the sensation we feel can reach to our brain .because there is 3 things our body . one sends the message , one receive that message and one accept that message .i.e know as sender( things that we have the sensation or feel ) _ reciever ( neurons receive that sensation and transport to the brain ) _ & accpter ( that of the brain accept that sensation )..
