Headers and Footers are used in documents to give informations like page numbers, date, time, Author name, Document name etc....
Procedure:
On the Insert Tab,
Hit Header Footer Command,
Select any inbuilt format.
Type the text in the header or footer sections
When you are done, Choose close Header and Footer.
