Ouija Board home and announces a party with the women from her Book Club. The writer, drowned in consternation by her declaration, tries to convince Lavina, his wife, to drop the idea. However, his wife made him a partner of Laura Hinkle, one of the women from the Book Club who is quite fond of Mr. Hallock (the author), to work on one of the Ouija boards. Though he tried to resist, his wife paid no heed. When the spirit descended, Laura asked it to tell something, the pointer started moving towards the letters to point out the word 'TRAITOR'. Bewildered, the writer had nothing to say so his partner asked the spirit to explain itself more fully. In response, the spirit spelt 'ASK HIM'. That was when the author realised that it was actually Helen who was trying to interact with them. Unable to explain, the author felt miserable and his wife Lavinia, who was already going ballistic, threatened to walk out on him.

Hey there,,..

Ouija board in the story " shady plot " Is used by Lavinia who is very much crazy about latest fads and trends....

She also kept a Ouija board party... Where she called many of her friends...

Particulary Ouija board in the story is used to call upon the spirits or ghosts and talk to them...

Helen didn't like this that they are regularly being called upon and disturbed... That's why she insisted John to stop her wife from using Ouija board... Otherwise... She (helen) would stop helping him out in writing ghost stories..

It has been used by the narrator to make the story more effective, realistic and scary...

Hope the answer helps!!
