The more RAM your CPU has access to, the easier its job becomes, which enables a faster computer. RAM is a volatile memory which could store the data as long as the power is supplied. ROM is a non-volatile memory which could retain the data even when power is turned off. Data stored in RAM can be retrieved and altered. Data stored in ROM can only be read.

ram as the name say random accessible memory

ram is needed to use any programe, software, etc

heres a simple example

imagine you are playing pubgm now you device has a great processor and 3 gb ram now even if your gpu and processor is capable of running pubg on max settings but due to less ram it will restrict it . now even if you open a game there are many calculations going on behind the game and to do calculation you need some space and that space is given by ram

if you close the app you will see that your ram will have free space

because it ends all the things and delete it that's why it is also called as temporary memory

you can clearly see the change when game was open the app used nearly 200mb of ram to do calculation and run codes so that I can open my game and asoon as I close the app you can see that 1gb of ram is free i.e the 200mb which was used to perform task gets deleted asoon as the task is ended
